History on the Banks of the Danube
Majestic Bratislava Castle dominates the capital’s skyline, an imposing, rectangular structure perched high on a rocky hill. Below, narrow lanes meander through the Old Town, leading travellers to historic sites such as Saint Michael’s Tower, Zichy Palace and the Old Town Hall. The city rests on the Danube River, in the midst of rolling vineyards and the Small Carpathians, so nature is only ever a stroll away. Along with nature and history, the city is racing into the future with modern art, designer boutiques and an ever-increasing cafe scene for coffee-sipping and people watching.
Bratislava features on cultural routes including European Mozart Ways, the Saint Martin of Tours Route and the European Route of Jewish Heritage.
