Founded Landskrona in the early 15th century, Landskrona thrived for centuries as one of Skåne’s key harbours. It was fortified in the 16th century, but little remains of the architecture of this time bar the remarkable citadel, which is still surrounded by defensive moats and embankments. Aside from exploring these fortifications, the other reason to visit this small city is to explore its small gallery and museum. The Landskrona Konsthall, adjacent to the Kaptensgårdens Skulpturpark (sculpture park), puts on interesting modern art exhibitions, while the Landskrona Museum is dedicated to the history of the city and prehistoric life in Scandinavia.
