Parma is rightly renowned around the world for its cuisine. Often rated among the top places to live in Italy, it’s the perfect place to stop for a gourmet pause. It’s the home of three of Italy’s greatest foods: Parmesan cheese, prosciutto and filled pasta, all of which are on offer in Parma’s many excellent restaurants. Dining aside, cultural attractions abound in the historic centre. The most visited are the striking Romanesque cathedral and the Galleria Nazionale in the Palazzo della Pilotta. For outdoor adventures, the Apennine Mountains are practically on the doorstep.
