Explore Switzerland

Close to the border with Germany, the quaint medieval town of Schaffhausen is enchanting at any time of year, whether dusted with snow in winter or bathed in spring sunlight. There’s lots to see just walking the streets, notably the town’s guildhouses with their oriel windows and elaborate frescoes, the High Gothic St. Johann church and the imposing Munot fortress, built just above the town in the 16th century. For those with a little more time to spare, the nearby Rhine Falls are a popular day-trip. They can be seen from hiking and biking paths along the river or aboard boat trips that take visitors up close to the magnificent cascades.
